Olivia is our Deputy Chief Executive and started working for YMCA Doncaster in 2001. When Olivia isn’t supporting other good causes like taking part in the Race for Life event, she’s responsible for all of our Client focused activities such as our Supported Accommodation and Private Rented Sector projects.
Olivia grew up in Bradford and moved to Leeds at the age of 11. By the time she was 13, her Dad had bought her a bouncy castle so she could explore the exciting world of business and she was fully trained to run the pub that he owned at the time!
Olivia decided to join the YMCA movement in 1995 with an apparently temporary position at Leicester, but stayed for 5 years when she decided to move back to the North and come to Doncaster in her current position.
“I was only planning on spending five years here and then moving on, but I love the variety my job gives me. Knowing I’m doing something good for other people gives me a lot of satisfaction.
“All I’ve ever known is the voluntary sector. I love to see clients achieving goals and moving on successfully, and to see my members of staff develop with passion and enthusiasm”.
Olivia is without a doubt a valued member of the YMCA and is appreciated by the clients and staff alike for her constant hard work, but she’s not perfect…
“I crashed twice, on two separate driving tests”, she told us!
