Stacey started working for us in 2009 as an Assistant Manager and has progressed to become our Accommodation Manager. In her spare time she likes nothing more than wandering around antiques fares looking for bargains, but at work she makes sure all of the rent accounting is up to date, manages the Supported Accommodation applications and is usually there when interviews are taking place.
Stacey grew up in Rotherham, where she finished her school years and then started working for a computer supply company. She soon worked her way up and was asked to move to a branch in Doncaster in 2008, where she was responsible for an out-of-hours team.
Not so long down the line and Stacey’s journey with the YMCA began.
“When I first started working here it was the beginning of a new era for me. I was really happy because I’d been looking for something more meaningful, but as time went on I really fell in love with the people here and started to take on more responsibility.
“I love housing politics and the way us and our Clients are affected by things like welfare reform and how I can make it as easy as possible. I’m lucky because that’s one of the things I do every day!
Well, we know welfare reform isn’t easy Stacey.
Stacey is obviously a committed member of the team and by the sounds of it she’ll be with us for some time yet. She told us, “Now I never want to leave! I love it here!”
We’re happy to hear that, Stacey!
