I love working with a wide range of people from staff to the young people who come for the activities and their parents too! I get to meet lots of fun people.

Amy is an Engagement Officer and began working for YMCA Doncaster in November 2022.

Born and raised in Doncaster, Amy initially joined the team as an activity leader but took on expanded responsibilities in September 2024, stepping into her engagement role.

Before joining the team at YMCA Doncaster, Amy was the Director of a Leadership Programme at YMCA Camp Mohawk, a Summer Camp in the USA. Working with a group of 30 girls aged 16 to 17, Amy covered a diverse range of topics, including leadership skills, session planning, public speaking, and project management.

Amy speaks fondly of her Summer Camp Experience and explained that it also included many outdoor activities “I did lots of paddle boarding and ate lots of campfire s’mores!”

Now, as an Engagement Officer here at YMCA Doncaster, Amy brings a wealth of experience and a diverse skill set to the table. Her background in designing and leading youth activities provides valuable insight, enhancing her effectiveness here.

When asked what most excites her about her role at YMCA Doncaster she replied:

“I love working with a wide range of people from staff to the young people who come for the activities and their parents too! I get to meet lots of fun people.

I also love how varied my role is. One day I’m leading a table tennis session the next working on a funding application.  Every week is different and exciting!”

Amy is not just an Engagement Officer; she is a source of inspiration for those looking to combine their passion with purpose, creating a positive impact on the community she calls home.
