I love it when I hear that our young people have successfully moved on to an independent lifestyle due to support from our staff.
Olivia is our Deputy Chief Executive and started working for YMCA Doncaster in 2001.
“By far the best part of the job is watching the clients develop,” she told us. “I love it when I hear that our young people have successfully moved on to an independent lifestyle due to support from our staff.”
Having previously been a Keyworker, Olivia knows exactly what it’s like to work directly with clients. But she now contributes to the YMCA’s vision by running the strategic development of accommodation and all client-focused activities. She’s also recently taken on oversight of the charity shop and all our online sales and donations.
Day-to-day, she never knows what’s coming: “When I open my emails in the morning, who knows what’ll end up happening!”
Olivia has an enviable work ethic, so we weren’t surprised to hear that she started young – her dad helped her set up a bouncy castle side-hustle when she was only 13.
But Olivia knows how to play too. On her days off you can find her running, combat training, dog walking, playing with her nieces and nephews…or, most likely, at a music festival.
