Following several months of significant building-related challenges, we have made the difficult decision to close the Wood Street Community Centre.
We recognise this will affect everyone who works in and uses the building, and we appreciate your understanding.
Our immediate priority is to find alternative nearby locations for staff offices and youth support sessions so that most of our services can continue.
We will sadly be ending our Monday and Tuesday evening activities for the time being. We will look for a new activities venue in due course.
We have appointed a specialist consultant to help us to create a new housing-focused facility for young people at our Wood Street site. We believe this approach will enable us to provide sustainable services in the longer term.
Our accommodation services will remain in place and continue to support those who need them.
We are very sorry that this will be disappointing news, and it is not a decision we have taken lightly.
