I really wanted to help and make a difference to the lives of the people who need the support of the YMCA. What the YMCA believes in and what I do line up together, and this is the perfect way for me to be able to help.
Colm joined YMCA Doncaster as an Assistant Manager in November 2024.
Born and raised in the top end of Balby, Doncaster, Colm grew up with his mum and two older sisters – who, he fondly recalls, used to chase him around the house with the cover of the movie I.T. whenever he was being cheeky while they babysat!
He attended Hall Cross Academy, where he studied Sociology, History, PE and Drama at GCSE level, before going on to Doncaster College to study Performing Arts.
Before joining YMCA Doncaster, Colm worked in several face-to-face roles, including as a Building Manager and Security Officer, and also gained his FA Level 1 and 2 Football Coaching qualifications when he was younger.
When asked what drew him to YMCA Doncaster, Colm said:
“I really wanted to help and make a difference to the lives of the people who need the support of the YMCA. What the YMCA believes in and what I do line up together, and this is the perfect way for me to be able to help.”
Outside of work, Colm is an avid theatre-goer and performer, regularly appearing on stage with a local dramatics group. He also channels his creativity into producing YouTube football shows and gaming podcasts, designing videos, logos, backgrounds and even music for them. Once a week, he enjoys gathering with friends to play Dungeons & Dragons, and when he’s not doing that, he’s likely gaming with friends or his partner.
